    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Truth outs in the end : truth has to be morally forcing : build on truth it's a stong foundation

There's a time statistic factor to this board ... this got a response within 3 minutes

a point of general interest to 'the common man' .. is a comparison of the USA media treatment of Putin and Bush ....

The KBG aspect of the former is noted, as is the fact that the CIA take breakfast daily with Bush ... whose crowd then go on to set-up their own info camps ... to reconstruct info that WILL take them into places like --- for example --- Iraq

So leaderships need KNOWLEDGE ... the YEAST of their business leading to the dough doe dough

----

An interesting comparative question to ask of both Putin and Bush is which (any or both) of these leaders have the desire to improve 'the lot' of their entire population ... and how do each set out to do this ... and in the retro of history ... which will be seen to have made substantial improvements for the 'every-man' who elected them ... and the 'every-man' who couldn't vote - disenfranchised.

And where exactly does MD fit in both their calculations ... and why?

Trust someone's around and watching to POST right NOW! :)

Can we do a better job of finding truth? YES. Click "rshow55" for some things Lchic and I have done and worked for on this thread.

This thread has some very high toned stuff ( not just from Jorian319 , and of course, cantabb excepted. ) For a family newspaper , aesthetics - grace - and connection to vital issues all matter. I submit this for your consideration ( and pleasure. )

I'm very proud of this thread - and think that I've been doing my patriotic duty working on it - that the NYT has been serving the country by hosting it - and that lchic has been a very gracious Aussie for working on it so brilliantly, gracefully, and entertainingly.

I was very proud of the exchanges between almarst , lchic and me on July 4, 2001 - especially the postings keyed to Koko - and problems even a monkey should be able to see - and repost the July 4 2001 postings here.

"Both gisterme and I have agreed that "missile defense" -- even as a "potempkin village" never deployed, would be worthwhile if it decentered a previously frozen situation, and led to a workable , big reduction of world risks and military problems.

"What do people want? Or is the question too complex? . . . Maybe it just takes work to adequately define, and some balancing. http://www.mrshowalter.net/a_md6000s/md6531.htm http://www.mrshowalter.net/a_md6000s/md6536.htm

"With the internet, and crosslinking, and hard work, there are technical arrangements, partly coming into focus here, that accomodate communication, including the expression of disagreements between staffs. http://www.mrshowalter.net/a_md6000s/md6541.htm

http://www.mrshowalter.net/a_md6000s/md6551.htm cites links to my relationship to Bill Casey available at http://www.mrshowalter.net/CaseyRel.html - and reasons why it was clear, by July 4, 2001 - that gisterme cared about this thread, and had studied it. http://www.mrshowalter.net/a_md6000s/md6555.htm

Koko series:

" And Happy Birthday Koko with interspecies communication ... wonder what she makes of Missile Defence ! http://www.mrshowalter.net/a_md6000s/md6557.htm http://www.mrshowalter.net/a_md6000s/md6567.htm http://www.mrshowalter.net/a_md6000s/md6577.htm http://www.mrshowalter.net/a_md6000s/md6586.htm http://www.mrshowalter.net/a_md6000s/md6596.htm http://www.mrshowalter.net/a_md6000s/md6606.htm http://www.mrshowalter.net/a_md6000s/md6615.htm

References to this thread, by day - from the beginning http://www.mrshowalter.net/calendar1.htm

12955-8 http://forums.nytimes.com/webin/WebX?8@13.zG2ab9pFMT1.1560598@.f28e622/14631 deals with reasons why the issues involved are so important - because the defense of the United States, and the honor of the United States, depend on right answers and straight dealing.

Questions for a 4th of July discussion bear repeating:

2860 http://forums.nytimes.com/webin/WebX?8@13.zG2ab9pFMT1.1560598@.f28e622/3566

3585 http://forums.nytimes.com/webin/WebX?8@13.zG2ab9pFMT1.1560598@.f28e622/4518

This thread deals with national defense - including missile defense - and what is worth defending.
