    Missile Defense

Russian military leaders have expressed concern about US plans for a national missile defense system. Will defense technology be limited by possibilities for a strategic imbalance? Is this just SDI all over again?

'conflict between obedience to authority and personal conscience' add to this people locked into day-to-day financial requirements ... and it can be compromising for people to really STAND UP and question.
This is why it's important that elected representatives of the people have no skeletons in the closet .. and can speak up an speak out .. as in ' the king is in the altogether ..

lunarchick 7/4/01 8:50pm but also a problem for folks to stand up and question questioners.

I wonder if there's a single engineer, with a PE ticket to lose, who'd be willing to take me on about guidance -- especially with some other engineers, who I could round up on very short notice, checking work.

The "missile sheild" has no clothes.

As I said in postings you can find searching "shuck" -- the Bush administrations' missile defense proposals are, in H.L. Menken's phrase

" as devoid of merit as a herringfish is of fur. "

If you search gisterme's most recent postings as of now, and what she said, and then look at what I said -- I'd ask --

is there anything gisterme can offer in favor of the technical plausibility of any proposed missile defense program?

If so, we can go at it some more.

Koko doesn't look as if she'd want to go around 'hitting out' at everything in sight .. she's more the cognitional striker as per Rodin

I bet Koko knows that plenty of things are impossible, or not worth doing.

Does gisterme ?

I always heard that "the Thinker" was trying to remember where he'd left his clothes.
