    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Read Debates, a new Web-only feature culled from Readers' Opinions, published every Thursday.

Iraq: Bad will vs. Goodwill - http://english.pravda.ru/main/2003/01/30/42791.html

Washington forgets the meaning of goodwill, concentrating instead upon gossip Examining a marmalade store hoping to find weapons of mass destruction is the style of the UNMOVIC team which balances between its masters at the United Nations HQ in New York and the influence of Washington

On February 27th 1933, Nazis put the Reichstag on fire, having blamed communists for that. The communist party was outlawed. Social democrats’ turn came in spring; the majority of them was completely demoralized by that time. Law and order was established in Germany, and the whole world had to pay for it. - http://english.pravda.ru/main/2003/01/30/42789.html

Leader of the opposition, Mr. Simon Crean, accused the Prime Minister of lying to the Australian people about the country's commitment to the US-led attack against Iraq. At the same time, the media here revealed that a squadron of 18 Air Force planes is scheduled to leave for the Middle East within the next two weeks.

A prominent Australian defence specialist said in a TV interview today that Iraq has no links with al-Qaeda and the country should rather focus on combating terrorism in Asia.

A group of Australians intending to serve as human shields in Iraq left Adelaide this week.

~~~~ It got understood and exposed ~~~~
That's al-Qaeda terrorism .... Indonesia & Phillipines ...
Al-Qaeda terrorism links to the flawed (Nasser Egypt 1952) concept of a pan arabic axis from the Atlantic in the West to the Pacific in the East ... give the logic that says Saddam would be involved in financing Al-Qaeda
The logic against might be that as a 'good administrator' he see better uses for money ... and looking at the costs associted with post 9/11 he'd note rises in travel, logisitcs, security, and wastage of time spent re searches and longer load times for travellers.
Saddam -- as a 'good administrator' ... and looking opportunity costs ...
'Saddam the valiant brave and true'
must be weighing up the offer of exile ..
as against his staying in Iraq ... which would then be subject to missile destruction ... that would take thousands of years to recover from ...
Saddam right now might be calling up his parent's insurance assessors --- checking their life expections against his probable own ...
Would he be a HERO if he volunteer to walk peacefully away from Bagdhad .. into the waiting arms of .. say .. George BUSH
With a parting speech to say he did it for love of his country, for love of his people ... not forgetting 'for love of himself'
~~~~

Saw a program on choices ... it was put the two choices should be offered ..

The offer of exile is only one choice

Whereas what's it to be

  • Exile in Former USSR
  • Exile in Lybia
  • Exile @ Nelson's
    or
    a bullet
Then that's choice -- real choice -- something to pick from.
