    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Outgoing South Korean president Kim Dae Jung offered veiled criticism of President Bush's motivations in resisting talks with North Korea today, and dispatched an envoy to the North Korean capital to discuss the nuclear weapons impasse. - http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A37574-2003Jan24.html

It seems not a lucky day for GWB. I predict the future will be even ... more interesting.

Human Rights? Isn't it an US invention still under the patent protection so can be modified by US at will?;)

limpseed, Who the hell is Harold Pinter?

http://www.kirjasto.sci.fi/hpinter.htm

English playwright who achieved international success as one of the most complex post-World War II dramatist. Pinter's plays are noted for their use of silence to increase tension, understatement, and cryptic small talk. Equally recognizable are the 'Pinteresque' themes - nameless menace, erotic fantasy, obsession and jealousy, family hatred and mental disturbance.

commondata - 04:35am Jan 25, 2003 EST (# 8023 of 8040)

Is the office of the president of the united states, 'Pinteresque'?
