Science
Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a
nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a
"Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed
considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense
initiatives more successful? Can such an application of
science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable,
necessary or impossible?

Women aren't cattle .... except in countries such as ....
Dalia was a young, beautiful, Arab Muslim living with
her family in Amman, Jordan. Aged 25, Dalia unexpectedly
fell in love with Michael, a young Catholic man and a major
in the Royal Army. For a Muslim woman, any relationship with
a Catholic man is forbidden and Dalia was only too aware
that flouting this rule could cost her life. But they were
deeply in love and with the help of Dalia's lifelong friend,
Norma, with whom she ran a hairdressing salon, they went to
extraordinary lengths to find ways to meet in secret. On
only a handful of occasions were Dalia and Michael able to
be alone and their relationship remained entirely chaste.
Her only crime was to fall in love.
Although they covered their tracks meticulously, when
one of Dalia's brothers became suspicious, she was suddenly
gripped by the terrifying reality of what could happen to
her. Two months after her 26th birthday, Dalia was the
victim of an honour killing at the hands of her father.
Defying tradition and confronting Dalia's family about the
killing, Norma was forced to flee the country when her own
family threatened to kill her for shaming them in public.
She fled to Athens and now lives in Australia.
Norma Khouri's book is a gift to the memory of her
life-long friend. A powerful love story that ends in an
appalling tragedy, it is also an attempt to bring the
world's attention to the continuing practice of honour
killing in Jordan - an ancient tradition that encourages the
murder of women considered to have dishonoured the family.
It is a crime that effectively goes unpunished. Shocking and
dramatic, Forbidden Love will strike a chord with women
everywhere and is a testimony to the courage and strength of
women who are prepared to defy generations of male
dominance. ISBN: 1863253483 Format: Paperback

The United Nations should set standards
Women living in Moslem cultures must be subject to first
world standards --- NOT --- the moronic!
The USA has a limit of Eight Years for a president ...
World standards might look at a set limit for National
Presidents ... were this a standard then long-stay
Off-the-rails leaders could be legitimately ousted for the
better good!
To stay too long
is to buy people, buy government, which is subject to
limitless corruption!

The whole culture of Jordan needs a wet-towel massage ...
moronic ideas require kneeding, chopping, disecting ... women
must be given higher status and more power. Why would 21C AD
Jordanian women wish to co-exist with the BCMan.

Once there was the concept US : OTHERS-ELSEWHERE
International gut feeling has moved this simplistic to a
different simplistic
People everywhere are people People have the same
needs and wants
People are 'un-manufacture-able' much to complex, smart and
alive ... and every individual is unique and uniquely
valuable.
The thought of the overhead bombing of a city revolts human
imagination.
World opinion has moved away from the phrase 'pre-emptive
strike' ....
World opinion wants justice for the 'people' of iraq, iran,
and north korea .... wants them to become happy and functional
in societies that are humaine.
_______
Japan cut the North Korean food bowl aid by half ... making
regular folks suffer for political incompetence of yore ... no
one has come forward to help fill their empty rice bowls ...
starvation is a slow cruel death ... and quite unnecessary
