    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Phillip Adams on 'Measuring a leader .. '

Phil has expectations of leaders ...

One of our great leaders is/was Paul Keating ... he's available for world-saving - if called upon - but not for Malaysia -- he's much too much of a straight talker ... which can turn out to be reprehensible at times

"Good on you Paul!! Cheers Mate!!! "

as they say downUnder

... wonder what it means?

:)

"Quae cum ita sunt" Caesar's Gallic Commentaries

I just went through 50 odd posts with not one mention of GASP! missile defense. Today's Aviation Week shows the Boeing ABL landing at Edwards where the Lasers will be installed and tested. It's search and targeting radar has been tested during a recent ABM test. All's going well in the real world.

BTW when asked why the "US / North Korean treaty regarding the Light Water nuclear plant, food aid and fuel oil, (it came from Alaska not the Middle East!),was not submitted to the Senate for ratification President Clinton's response was well it's an "agreement" not a treaty! It's all in how you define "IS". When you choose not to follow the Constitution you end up in BIG trouble!

Lawyers and Missile Defence.

One of the best ways to defend a Nation from missiles or any other threat is to ensure that the fabric of its society is strong.

In Family law matters lawyers are tearing our social fabric to shreds ... they continuue to be the most morally corrupt side of society ... like foxes guarding a henhouse!

A recent situation in Australia has a prominent lawyer complaining that Australian males are steering away from having children ... this the day after a court decision which effectvely made men permanently financially responsible not only for their own offspring after a failed relationship but also any stepchildren.

Now that's pretty daunting for prospective fathers when they see that the judicial system is stacked so heavily in their partners favour ... but wait there's more! In order to get these unfair motions upheld against males, women hire lawyers at $350 per hour or more. These lawyers know how to string out a case to enrich themselves, further exacerbating the males position, for the male almost always loses and has to pay both lawyers and all costs.

It's a miracle that any man in Australia wants to get caught in such a situation and why wouldn't a women take advantage of such a terrific free ride. This doesn't bode well for trust and trust is an important ingredient in the social fabric. Also, because of the inevitable involvement of lawyers both parties essentially end up losers after all is said and done.

Instead of prominent lawyers complaining that men aren't having children I think men should complain that the legal profession is grabbing the Nation by the crutch and that it was time to let go! We need a system where family law is covered like Medicare and standard procedures are charged at a standard rate.

Lawyers won't like this of course ... but at least we will get back a functional society, get those foxes out of the henhouse and be a stronger more defensible Nation.

PS The lawyers might not get away with ths BS so easily if we had our public forums reinstated in the OZ press.

"You can't eat this, it's people, it's people"-B....."What about the cherry pie?"

I told you not to marry that b!tch with all those kids, partner.
Maybe she'll get hit by a stray missile test.
I bet Luunarchick is available. If you're looking for somebody that is.
Yes, they may be(women) stupid enough to marry you, but when it comes time for the divorce decree they'll be smart enough to contract the $350.00 an hour lawyer.
Yipes!!
Who the hell is fredmoore and why is he bothering us? This is not a forum where anything goes partner. For that you need the "Dark Matter forum".
Ira joe fisher - weather man extraordanaire - indeed.
Anyway too bad about those pesky lawyers. Maybe your divorce judge is bribable.
