    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Read Debates, a new Web-only feature culled from Readers' Opinions, published every Thursday.

During the Cold War U.S. pitchmen often addressed an audience, in Eastern Europe and elsewhere, receptive to the Western model. This time, the latest Pew poll shows that anti-American sentiment is widespread and growing, not only in Muslim countries but throughout Europe. - http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A38308-2002Dec25.html

Any pitch should know where people are 'at' and where they 'want to be' ...

They are at 'the now' and 'want to be where' their aspirations will take them .....

NK Neighbours

China is being brought into play by the international media

China's main goal currently is to make a success of the Beijing Olympic Games 2008

A question for China to ask is

'Where North Korea brought back into the family of humanity - would this assist peace and stability in the region .... leading to a chance of improved success for the 2008 games?'

A question for NK to ask is

'Were NK brought back into the fold of humanity would the North Korean economy buzz?'
'Would the people of NK start to smile and BE happier?'
'Is there a democratic-blue-print in place ready to be actioned?'

Is Kristal clear?

Terrorism is a method of applying the pressure on an opponent by applying the pressure on civilians. In hope the demoralised population will demand surrender.

In my view, terrorism includes damaging of civilian infrastructure, broad economic sunctions and killing of civilians.

The ONLY difference is - the West-designated terrorists put their lives in danger while "great powers" preferre stealth bombing from far and above and a slow starvation and deseases to advance their goals. Oh yes, and a NICE VOCABULARY LIKE HUMANITARIAN BOMBING and COLATERAL DAMAGE.
