    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Read Debates, a new Web-only feature culled from Readers' Opinions, published every Thursday.

Vincent Van Gogh "Starry Night"

"...to look at the stars always makes me dream, as simply as I dream over the black dots on a map representing towns and villages. Why, I ask myself, should the shining dots of the sky not be as accessible as the black dots on the map of France? If we take the train to get to Tarascon or Rouen, we take death to reach a star." -- see see also - art and CD

Great potential here for a comprehensive CD-ROM to be made available to the 'polarised-non-thinking' youth currently wrecking Nigeria.

In a 'fun' way (if fun and pleasure are permitted) the dot-of-a-disc could put over principles, facts, information ... and show the divine way to advancement - the NIKE method - JUST DO IT!

I still insist that there is nothing inheritant between Islam and terrorism.

Moreover, I firmly believe, Muslim nations where far less implicated in practicing the terrorism then Christians. Throuout the History of Civilization in general and particularely during the last two centuries.

The main difference we see today is a willingness to sucrifice their own life on a part of terrorists on a mass scale. However, rhis is the only feasible way to inflict any damage to percieved military and economically superior enemy like the US. The only condition to act in this way is to hate an enemy more then to value your own life. The strong religious belief that by acting this way one opens a door to Heaven is also helpfull. But not nessesery as have being shown by poorly armed and equiped Nazi Resistance movement during the WWII.

I see it as a step into the Intellectual Dishonesty by tying the Islam with Terrorism.

Terrorism - relies on people who lack the imagination to envision the consequences of their actions in real and human terms.

Were they put in a cage with a decomposing carcass (not rose) (linear - one for each of their victims) ... then their olfactory system http://bioinformatics.weizmann.ac.il/HORDE/ at least might appreciate the magnitude ...

Treat the disease ....

It is inane to connect the dots on your chicken pox.

Although I must admit it can be fun!
