    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Read Debates, a new Web-only feature culled from Readers' Opinions, published every Thursday.

Dear Ichic and Robert

Unfortunately, most people do "get off" on missiles, bombs and wars. Contrary to your valient faith in the "goodness" of man, the reality is that people will do evil things and get off on violence if they think they can get away with it without too much cost to themselves......for example, that's why most people you encounter on this forum tend to get mean and nasty with you because it is cost free to them. They are the same ones who will cheer the slaughter of thousands if it suits their puny egos and help them momentarily forget their usually mundane and "losing" streak in life, trapped in the illusions of suburbian USA.

So face it, the reality is they are in great majority and you guys are a tiny small minority....and rather insignificant voices in macro-political perspective.

'The scoops are on the way'....

Wow munjchamucha.
Let's see if you taunt ludicrouschic or rshow55 for posting 1000's of posts of slop, you also like to see 1000's of people blown up.
Go back to the bush forum, those people will appreciate your logic.
Do you, like looneychic and rshowNcheck55, think posting slop is going to accomplish anything?

Funny, I don't see you posting any original information or ideas of your own, do I. Your sole motivation on this forum seems to be to denigrate ichic and Robert. Now I don't agree with most of their appeal to, and over reliance, on human capacity for reasoning and rational thoughts but I do not get infuriated by them.

Why do you?

Why does it bother you so much that they found a small sanctuary of sort here where they can express their views (ok, saturatingly one might say) which they probably can't in most other places or fora. After all, you got CBS, NBS, ABC, CNN, Wall Street Journal, NYT, all those usual amen corners that you can dwell in.....comfortably in your suburbian illusion...so stay there if you like. Instead you are drawn here mostly to attack their postings...that is funny and unhealthy pyscho base to argue things from IMHO.
