    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Read Debates, a new Web-only feature culled from Readers' Opinions, published every Thursday.

...but since the pronouncement from on high, (by Showalter et al), are that missile defense is a boondoggle then there will be NO support for missile defense. So why post endlessly at this forum except to obfuscate?

Bali - was mentioned by Terrorists as a place to be hit - this info was with the USA three weeks ago ... so says 'The Washington Post'

American 'intelligence' hadn't go the practical intelligence to convey this to Australia (America's 'Friend')!

Who, in the Parliament ... who exactly is it who would be responsible for, and able to answer a question on the above?
