    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Read Debates, a new Web-only feature culled from Readers' Opinions, published every Thursday.

How typical. When you fail to answer in a thoughtful logical manner, since no such answer exits, you attribute nefarious nuances, ulterior motives and suspicious characterizations to me-us!

You speak of mental processes that "people have been using in their minds for millions of years". Pardon me, but what planet are you from? Archeological records suggest that vocal cords evolved within the past 50,000 years. Higher order thinking prior to that was probably grunts meaning "food", "sex", "fear", and "cave" {safety). Maslow's pyramid was very short!

You speak about societal statistics and measurements as if you are Harry Seldon the father of Psychohistory in Asimov's "Foundation Series." Wrong Forum, try Fiction" if that's where your heading.

The 'sick man of Europe' pushes on the throttle of 'the midnight express' to race past 'Uncle Sam' !

If you are (you're) looking at history in the making note that those wishing to join the EU are adopting 'higher standards' than exhibited in the US.

Absolutely no reason to think that humanity was pegged on the bottom wrung of the Maslow pyramid's ladder.

If USA 'kids' can be reduced to a barCodeNumber estimation of quality for selection ... http://www.nytimes.com/2002/08/04/edlife/04ENDT.html

Then using a similar system - might it be possible to determine the quality of aspects of government, where does it pass, when does it fail!

Ah! so the MEast Palestine Isreali war is really about ..

""In the West Bank, a Palestinian who has lived in New Jersey might describe arguing at a checkpoint with an Israeli soldier from Brooklyn.
.... Americans

New Jersey v Brooklyn

$US10,000m a day, each and every day, from all American tax payers heading for 'Brooklyn' ... none to NJ.

SuperSam ... less Super now!

Emphasises my point regarding who puts the 'super' into 'superpower' ... when the world withdraws for milder climes (climates), just how 'Super' is UncleSam? http://www.nytimes.com/2002/08/04/business/04INVE.html

SuperSam has been very arrogant - and failed to acknowledge the role 'the rest of the world' has been playing in it's wealth generation.

Would the 'rest of the world' be those hit as the CEO's scraped their company clean, from the inside out!

First and foremost in my priorities is understanding your delusional rantings. I am Louis S. Mazza. I've given you a website where you can see my telephone number. Give me a call if you like but quit your paranoid ravings.
