    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Read Debates, a new Web-only feature culled from Readers' Opinions, published every Thursday.

You can pursue wahtever you want, but be prepared for the Big Brishoff, because that's what you're going to get.

Nobody of any national or global importance has posted here. That's in your head. I also strongly doubt, with all my heart and soul, that nobody from the NYT has posted here except KateNYT, the moderator, and whoever the science giu was for awhile. I forget his name; he was a physics graduate student or postdoc or something. Anyway, he wasn't a regular staffer.

I'll be personally happy if you now confine your wackiness to private correspondence with whomever at the NYT. If you decide to participate in the forums, I assure you that you'd better stop the nonsense you've been indulging in in this forum. The moderators are not going to tolerate your exporting it to some other forum. They will start removing your posts as soon as they detect them, as they do with certain other posts like permatransient .

As a human being, I hope you find your way to a healthier path in life. Right now you're mired in a slough of paranoid fantasties and dysfunctional beliefs about yourself and the world. If I were you, I'd write off whatever it is you think you're owed by whatever shadowing figures or institutions haunt your memories and move on. Get yourself back in the game, even if it means abandoning whatever it was you were involved in previously.

You're not under house arrest, but you are a prisoner of your own mind. Try to escape.

Sorry about typos. Here's the amended text:

I forget his name; he was a physics graduate student or postdoc or something. Anyway, he wasn't a regular NYT staffer.

The moderators are not going to tolerate your exporting it tp another venue. Trust me. Can we do a better job of finding truth? YES. Click "rshow55" for some things Lchic and I have done and worked for on this thread.

Cooper, why do you care whether NYT people have posted here?

I don't think it is the least bit whacky, given NYT connections, and what's been said here, to suspect that Cantabb , bluestar , Jorian , manjumicha , and fredmoore are NYT people.

I think, given the record, that it is whacky to doubt that gisterme has close government ties - and I think it would be strongly in the national and world interest to identify gisterme for the person who I think he is - from what he said - the President of the United States.

The Cold War should be over, and some messes should be cleaned up. I know I've tried to do that - and that is entirely consistent whether you "call me Ishmael" or not. Getting some facts and procedures straight could help a lot.

It looks to me like the NYT has betrayed some things it has promised its customers, and gotten very tied into the government. That's not healthy - for the Times, or a nation that trusts information from the TIMES.
