    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

The whole human race has problems with negotiations when people have differences of interest and opinion. Well illustrated by this thread.

And, these problems were there BEFORE this thread, and will continue, long after this thread is gone, even from any living memory.

Just realized that ?

Hi, all.

I wanted to reiterate that this forum will be deleted on Friday. I also want to make it clear that when this forum is gone, it's gone. Posters who might want to continue the discussion will have to find a space outside of NYTimes.com.

Best,

Kate

Kate: Thanks for clarification.

Can we do a better job of finding truth? YES. Click "rshow55" for some things Lchic and I have done and worked for on this thread.

I appreciate the clarification, too.
