Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a
nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a
"Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed
considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense
initiatives more successful? Can such an application of
science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable,
necessary or impossible?

Cantabb - when not on 'Powell-Watch' ... you're usually a

scale?

That's why it's a spectrum (NOT just discrete water-tight
scaled divisions). It's just that some have the ability to
'oscillate' from one end to the other -- as the mood strikes,
the wind blows.

Jorian:
"Robert's sociological paradigm reminds me of a children's
clothing line manufacturer loudly protesting the need for 1/3
garments to cater to the 0.3 child in every family - pointing
out the urgent need felt by every "average" family, which has
2.3 kids."
Yep, that's about it...because "history" is a mystery, it
is surrounded by quacks of all types pretending to explain
it..scientists, ideologists, zealots and fanatics of every
sort...astrologers, tarot card readers...

Bluestar: Tarot-card readers ? Hadn't thought of that.
Telling people how the future 'history' (?) WILL unfold ....
So, you're ready with a barrel of ink.
