    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Read Debates, a new Web-only feature culled from Readers' Opinions, published every Thursday.

well, it's only a week that's left now for Showalter to have an audience. What will he do then?

"have been working so hard"

Yes, what EXACTLY do you mean, Showalter..? What "work"...? What did you do..? Showalter never answers these questions...

My guess: He'll go out with a bang -- i.e., post and re-post his stuff a few more times. Market "The Collected Works of cantabb" Vol I. Spend 3x as long on telephone with lchic. Create one more website for himself.

May be none of the above !

Can we do a better job of finding truth? YES. Click "rshow55" for some things Lchic and I have done and worked for on this thread.

What’s the affiliation of lchic ?

The only one I actually know about in any detail is the affiliation she has to her family - and the people she knows. For a long time, because of correspondence, I thought that she had very good contacts with the New York Times - and might work for them. That's clear from the record here.

What’s your current affiliation ?

I'm living off of family resources - very moderate family resources - and spending my full attention on posting.
