    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Read Debates, a new Web-only feature culled from Readers' Opinions, published every Thursday.

Comedy ... there's an element of this

Comedy (n.) A dramatic composition, or representation of a bright and amusing character, based upon the foibles of individuals, the manners of society, or the ludicrous events or accidents of life; a play in which mirth predominates and the termination of the plot is happy; -- opposed to tragedy.

Both fit with the 'Entertainment' focus in mission of the NYT ... that sells copy (she worldwide) and keeps the entity in the black.
