    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Read Debates, a new Web-only feature culled from Readers' Opinions, published every Thursday.

Cont'd to lchic:

The need to solve specific problems was to advance America - as against other nations. Showalter is partnered by the late Emeritus Professor 'Steve Kline' who 'BELIEVES in the work' Showalter is undertaking.

His delusion. His constant references to Kline, Casey or Eisenhower without adequate proof do NOT add an iota of credibility -- NOT without some verifiable evidence, which we have NOT yet seen here.

Showalter is encouraged to establish a further company that looks for the stand-out optimal solution ... Showalter is not allowed to say who he is, who's backing him (CIA boss William Casey), Casey pulls the deal re Government money and tells Showalter to solve the longstanding maths problem ... pulled and pushed in a stressor situation working to extremes Government and/versus investors ... his health suffers - once, twice and three times ....

You may believe it, BUT most people familiar with the way intelligence agencies operate, do NOT ! Such matters are NEVER publicly discussed.

Showalter has to let the company go ... investors local to him don't understand what's been happening and why ... Showalter can't say. Showalter sowly powers back to health, takes and passes the Professional Engineers exam.

His biographical details -- documented or not -- may be of interest to YOU, but are NOT relevant to this thread on MD.

Casey tells Showalter to 'come in' with worked solutions via various channels ... He undertakes studies at Madison --- one of the channels Casey advocates ---- the last resort being the New York Times. Showalter follows through with the life-work entrusted to him. BUT ..... the doors that should open .... are reluctant to open.

Mere hearsay, spread by Showalter ! Nothing substantiated.

Which raises the question - WHY isn't the 'support' there to enable Showalter to fulfil the tasks entrusted to him ?

ASK him ? That unquestioning slavish servitude is not quite unbecoming in this day and age. Didn't work in other cases 50+years ago either.

A further thought is ... How many significant others are there in this type of situation ... have worked for government yet 'when push comes to shove' are denied proper acknowledgement?

Even if you were to believe his story, lock, stock and barrel as you do, there're numerous others who have accomplished much much more, quietly and in anonymity. rshow55 seems to violate the very code of such operations, if he EVER was involved in them.

"ultimately TRUTH outs : TRUTH has to be morally forcing : build on TRUTH it's a strong foundation": You have NOT lived up to even a fraction of all this. And, you're NOT going to achieve any of this, with the approach you have taken.

Can we do a better job of finding truth? YES. Click "rshow55" for some things Lchic and I have done and worked for on this thread.

CS -- Wizard -- shooting past Dorothy, the Lion and Scarecrow -- the Wizard speaks --

WIZARD Y es-s-s -- that...that's exactly so. I'm a humbug!

DOROTHY Oh ....

MCU -- Dorothy -- Tin Man and Scarecrow behind her --

DOROTHY ...you're a very bad man!

MCU -- The Wizard reacts, speaks humbly --

WIZARD Oh, no, my dear -- I'm -- I'm a very good man. I'm just a very bad Wizard.

_ ! _ ! _ ! _ ! _ ! _

A point comes where deceptions - even deceptions made for good reasons - need to be cleaned up - especially when these patterns of deceptions go on for decades - or "good Wizards" can become bad - in ways that matter to all concerned.

I've asked to have some things checked.

I don't feel in such a hurry that I can't take time to do it right. I'm hopeful. And a guest - so I'll be visiting my hosts for a while.

Out.

We'll see. I've got vulnerabilities, of course. Others do, too. Especially people who have to feel a sense of shame - when things happen in public - in ways that matter to them.

What does the slogan

" All the news that's fit to print."

mean?

This board is a very good place for work - and it has been effective - but it isn't the only one.

really out.
