    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Read Debates, a new Web-only feature culled from Readers' Opinions, published every Thursday.

Dowd insulated .... is that astronomically speaking ... as in

Situated at so great a distance as to be beyond the effect of gravitation; -- said of stars supposed to be so far apart that the affect of their mutual attraction is insensible. --C. A. Young.
That's impressive!

Visualise Dowd the heavenly body watching over little Blue-y.

Question : why, when much of what Showalter advocates ... and at depth ... is espoused (often later) by others ... does the MD-GANG fail to give him credit.

A for instance.

An examination of the Rotblat-Hines 'War no more' book ... will most probably have parallels with Showalter's advocation of truth, peace, stability and move away from war-toys redeploying folks into worthwhile sustainable industry ...

Why are you guys persistant in defaming Showalter - whose Name and Number are in the Madison Telephone Directory

and yet forgo opportunities to defame - let's say Rotblat - who also has a name, address, phone number [ as i listed ] ...

Can you monikered-poster-guys explain your logic ?

"in defaming Showalter - whose Name and Number are in the Madison Telephone Directory"

Wouldn't you "defame" Hitler - whose Name and Number were in the Munich Telephone Directory"
