Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a
nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a
"Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed
considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense
initiatives more successful? Can such an application of
science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable,
necessary or impossible?

Her rather selective recall !
And, he's diappointed that I lack 'empathy'. He may have
explained to her the problems, and she emphasizes. How can
anyone else do it, without knowing his actual (not imagined)
problems and he wouldn't do it despite numerous reminders.
Asking him to direct his complaints appropriately where they
can be considered is, for him, not enough empathy. He wouldn't
tell you anything, he wouldn't do anything you suggest, yet he
complains that no body cares or understands him and his
problems -- except, of course, lchic. And she goes after you,
if you question HIM or his approach.

Bluestar .... don't know what team you're on but ... you're
a person who holds redundant outmoded attitudes and value
systems, and demonstrates limited lexicographic skills.
"A hundred years ago, words like lunatic, cretin and
cripple were simply diagnostic terms. Why did they become
terms of abuse? Why did they need to change? What was the
point of calling the same building an asylum, then a mental
hospital, then a psychiatric hospital? Language is very
potent, and what is sometimes dismissed as political
correctness is more often about wanting to reflect attitudinal
change, and even to lead it. "

It is just a term that appears to accurately describe Mr.
Showalter's interventions on this Forum...the diagnosis is
paranoid schizophrenia....
