Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a
nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a
"Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed
considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense
initiatives more successful? Can such an application of
science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable,
necessary or impossible?

Russia's Putin Lets Chief of Staff Resign By THE

Many worry that the Kremlin could launch a
broad revision of the results of the privatization of the
1990s, in which businessmen such as Khodorkovsky snapped up
prized chunks of state assets at giveaway prices in dubious
auctions.
More power to him if he does - and does it right. Not that
he'd listen to me http://www.mrshowalter.net/PutinBriefing.html

I think there's enough to this thread that I
should be talked to.
Cantabb: In fact, if one is familiar with this

If cantabb is working, and drawing a NYT salary, at
the request of NYT officers that's interesting.
And the economic consequences are important to
consider. If there's an intentional effort to leave me mangled
- by a salaried, supervised NYT employee - that's interesting.

Look at how investment decisions are made - look at

does.

Utter nonsense. Just your paranoia still running wild...

The Bush Boom:
"The economy grew at a scorching 7.2 percent annual rate in
the third quarter," reports the Associated Press. "Consumers
spent with abandon and businesses ramped up investment,
compelling new evidence of an economic resurgence." The AP
notes that it was "the best showing since the first quarter of
1984."
With these numbers, Bush can go ahead and spend the
necessary tens of billions on Missile Defense, as soon as
possible...

It seems we still lost 41,000 jobs this month (could it be
the 3rd quarter? Regardless, we keep losing jobs all the
same).
Can this growth rate be sustained over time (at least till
the Election time) ?
First, let's spend $87 B !
