Science
Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a
nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a
"Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed
considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense
initiatives more successful? Can such an application of
science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable,
necessary or impossible?

Flavored "Syrup" 3x a day [dose varies] -- and tada....
"ultimately TRUTH outs : TRUTH has to be morally forcing
: build on TRUTH it's a strong foundation" sooner than you
can say 'MD'.

Omnicorder Corporation Press Release (today):
EAST SETAUKET, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 27, 2003--
OmniCorder to Collaborate With The Jet Propulsion
Laboratory, The Army Research Laboratory and The Goddard Space
Flight Center
OmniCorder Technologies SBIR (Small Business Innovative
Research) proposal, "Novel Sensor Technology for Booster
Typing," was selected for funding by the U.S. Department of
Defense's (DOD) Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The Company's
proposal competed with 1862 others and was selected by a
committee of government scientists, engineers, and technical
managers who recommended it as a promising approach to meet
MDA requirements.
OmniCorder will serve as the primary contractor on the
project and will develop a multi-band high resolution QWIP
infrared detector to be used for both missile defense and
medical imaging applications. This sensor is of great interest
to the Department of Defense for missile defense applications
and equally important to OmniCorder for future medical imaging
applications. OmniCorder will be collaborating with a team
comprised of the leading R&D institutions in this field
including the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the Army Research
Laboratory and the Goddard Space Flight Center.

Sorry, bluestar23, I am NOT :)
I'd rather NOT see such personal things again here. But you
know rshow55 and his loyal followerS -- the choice is not
ours.
While he's wondering if HE can "do a better job of finding
truth," his 'world asset' with "syrup" is pressing an ATM
button -- hoping "ultimately TRUTH outs" -- and she'll be able
to recognize "IT." Until then, I don't know what "strong
foundation" will be used in the meantime to "build," and how
"morally forcing" that would be.
May be rshow55 will figure out a way.

Bluestar23:
Re FAS link:
For peer-reviewed technical papers on a range of topics of
interest to MD, another source: "Science and Global Security,"
an international journal.
FAS (Federation of American Scientists) is also an advocacy
group, used to be 'Fed. of Atomic Scientists'.

Yes, you're right about the FAS, but the site has so much
information on it that it seemed like the best I'd seen...
