Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a
nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a
"Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed
considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense
initiatives more successful? Can such an application of
science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable,
necessary or impossible?

Policy makers have rights over recurrent expenditure ...
On Concorde Tony BENN said the French put money in for the
long run, the English continually reconsidered .... 'were they
a hundred yards away from the French Coast when forging the
tunnel the English were likely to say ... it's overrun budget
... scrap it.
The EU airbus has it's successful roots in the joint
teamworking that produced Concorde .... now heading for an air
museum near you and you?
Cantabb || note the word 'teams' and the
phrase 'working together :)
re Missile Defense .... if it doesn't work ... how much
will it 'still' cost?

A matter of mutual interest.

Yeah, when necessary.

Rambling, oversimplistic 'logic' !
If it concerns the defense of your own country, you do
whatever (and however) it is necessary.
An expensive system that does NOT work for the intended
purpose is just foolishness, economically & obviously for
the defense.

"Canticle for Liebowitz"
A world ravaged by a nuclear war, millennia to recover and
eventurally a rearmed civilization. The result was a plan
named "Lucifer Rising." As the second nuclear war begins the
seeds of mankind are launched into space to insure the
survival of mankind.
So we all go over to the Space Exploration forum and look
Ad Astra for redemption. We can leave Robert and Looney here
to wallow in their own brand of hell as we plan our trek to
the stars, (kinda catchy, huh?)

A danger from Iran, N.Korea?
Listening to the West one may get into believing it was
Iran or N.Korea who commited the massive war crimes in a past
or treatened or exploited the West in any way or form. And not
the other way around.
Who are those who tell the past victim he has no right to
bear the arms?
