    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Read Debates, a new Web-only feature culled from Readers' Opinions, published every Thursday.

The beginning point of the victory against Showalter takes place as he is no longer able to "peacefully" spam and abuse. Even he is aware that this has changed, and he complains bitterly about it. Good. Even a baby step is necessary...and good enough for a start....as the task may take years...

Now it is necessary to make it impossible for Showalter to post without rebuttal, something that cantabb is working on. Again, good. It seems to "disrupt" Showalter's "work" which may well make him take the "Work" elsewhere to "finish" it in peace....he complains he cannot now "Connect the Dots" on this thread...progress....very slowly....

should we drive to madison and yell taunts at him?

what specific taunts should we yell?

and what about the world class asset lchic?

it'll be hard to drive to oz.

does anyone own a balloon?

do we have a long term strategist?

for some reason I've got an asymmetrical non-harmonious dot-phase feeling in the pit of my tummy.

It's too hard to tell, as my remarks were vague and allusive and all cooper did was reply as usual to use "ignore" function...which I don't want to do, ......

NOT your comments, but his interpretation of them.

In his comments (partly copied here), he's quite specific (includes me with rshow-lchic). I've highlighted parts of it:

[to bluestar}]:

I fully appreciate your frustration with posters rshow55, lchic and cantabb. But I don't understand why you bother posting jabs at them. Write the forum moderators, every day if you have to, and register a formal complaint about them. Then place them on your ignore list. Why bother writing insults to them? Who is more the fool? The fool or the fool who reads his posts or responds to them?....

And, then he feels compelled again to post his ignore list.

Btw, I've already commented on his post.

All I have done is, ask rshow a couple of questions about his "work" here and his claims. And for the relevance of his ramblings and personal matters to MD.

Since he has been dodging all that and he's so unfocused, I've asked the same of his supporters ('world asset' lchic and fredmoore) to see if they can explain it for him.

If THAT "disrupts" his "work" as he claims, then what "work" is he talking about ?

I agree that "ignoring" him IS NOT the answer.

But I see at least a long-time regular and rshow's well-wisher is still peddling his Rx that, given the oxymoronic combination of his claims of bliss with constant whining, does NOT seem to work all that well for him, either !

What else can you expect from a guy who is not only 'addicted' to this forum, but also sought to meet with rshow to settle questions about his identity, and has been free with his gratuitous, paternalistic advice to one and all and his psychoanalysis of rshow, etc .

Now Mme Defarge watches the axe

as it falls thru Mme Guillotine's racks

but the star of the show one M. RShow

looks up at the sky and waits for the blow

that never arrives to nib the blood of his Reveramonde neck

While Cantabbelle nits and Bluey strives unto fits

to put an end to their ar..istocrat twits.

Full of compliants: The axe ought to fall

spare us their faux-gratitudes and MD untolds

and their life's history and their dull currency ...

But wait here comes BBBuck who seems down on his luck

but is blessed with a Jack Benny delivery

And what about Fred who thinks KAEP's not dead

And Will with the barrows dodging Defarge's barnyard tipped arrows

Wouldn't change it for quids, detecting missiles with Squids

And a long term strategy ... that's not up to me

worry 'bout that when the other side's dead.
