Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a
nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a
"Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed
considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense
initiatives more successful? Can such an application of
science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable,
necessary or impossible?

Showalter's GuardianTalk complaining:
"Lchic and I have been engaged in discussions about
negotiation on the New York Times Missile Defense thread - and
the thread itself has been a negotation from the beginining -
one that has had serious adversarial aspects in the last few
weeks. We're now at the cusp of certain issues in
negotiations. With the possibility of conflict significant -
with some serious risks for the "players". In as sense we are
doing a full scale modelling of negotiation patterns in the
presence of threat - strong emotions, mixed motives, and
fear."

"Write the forum moderators, every day if you have to, and
register a formal complaint about them..."

sent a reply....

"I am deeply grateful for this thread, and indebted to the
Guardian-Observer for letting me post here."
Disgusting faux-Grovelling from Showalter....

I'd swear the bugger was working for the Bush
administration. He's a perfect embodiment of the old saying,
"With friends like these, who needs enemies?" I wish the hell
he supported the Bush program. I wonder how many people have
been swayed to give the Bush program a sympathetic look based
on their revulsion for Robert Showalter's anti-NMD posts? At
least I'm as sure as I can be he's kept participation in this
forum to a low level; people wishing to discuss missile
defense or to take an interest in it most likely run screaming
when they read his litany of lunatic locutions.

Didn't you, as a Forum regular for 3 years, know that from
your own numerous exchanges with him ?
Why so much bile now that you "Ignore" him (and others) ?

Cantabb will say 'Where's the MD in that'
... Laura manicures the nails and literature of the guy who
has his finger on the button
Don't bother to explain.
You see MD in everything ! Everything you (a "world asset")
and your leader drag in here !

It's too hard to tell, as my remarks were vague and
allusive and all cooper did was reply as usual to use "ignore"
function...which I don't want to do, showalter is not going to
push me around....it's him who's going to be on the receiving
end....
