    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Following the links that I have discovered, one can easily see that this thread is but one Fiefdom in the Showalter "Empire"....his "output" is much greater than just this...

All apparently required for saving lives and achieving world peace on the side. And resolving personasl problems in the process.

:)

Can we do a better job of finding truth? YES. Click "rshow55" for some things Lchic and I have done and worked for on this thread.

Everybody has a mix of motives.

I fully appreciate your frustration with posters rshow55, lchic and cantabb. But I don't understand why you bother posting jabs at them. Write the forum moderators, every day if you have to, and register a formal complaint about them. Then place them on your ignore list. Why bother writing insults to them? Who is more the fool? The fool or the fool who reads his posts or responds to them? I'm not callingy ou a fool, obviously, but, IMHO, it's a pure waste of energy to even lift a single little finger to engage rshow55, lchic or cantabb. My hope is that we will continue our dialogue about missile defense and let the crazies prattle on to their hearts' content. It would be better if the NYC banned them or deleted their posts regularly, but the moderators obviously feel that letting them roost on this forum is preferable to letting them flock to any of the others.

Correction.

I shouldn't have said "letting them flock" to other forums, but "encouraging them to flock" to others. Obviously, cantabb posts on other forums and so does lchic. Fortunately, however, they spend most of their energy here.

Like I said, this forum should be retitled the "R Show Rants Forum". Then we could start up a proper Missile Defense forum. Or maybe just a forum called the "Crazies" forum for rshow55, robkettenberg, and the rest of them. The forum moderators wouldn't have to delete their posts, then, only program their software to automatically transfer any posts by an identified crazy to that forum. A message could be left on the forum where each of the crazy's posts appeared with a link to its new home in the "Crazies" forum. Moderators could devise a system of, say, three warnings to potential crazies to stay on topic, not to repost innumerable links to their past posts, not to call other posters liars, etc. After three violations, they can agree to go on the "Crazies" list to have all their posts appear on the "Crazies" forum or they can leave the NYT forums altogether. If they sign on again, and the moderators determine that they've returned under another handle, that handle will automatically be listed on the "Crazies" list.

I like it. I like it.

More gratuitous advice from a 'See-no-evil' ['See-no-weeds'] Forum "regular" !

I think he may have mis-read bluestar23's comments ! But why should that prevent him him making yet another idle "jab."

Still trying to peddle the same: One Rx serves ALL !
