    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Read Debates, a new Web-only feature culled from Readers' Opinions, published every Thursday.

The cantabbulator sets itself up as an ultimate authority as to what has gone down on this thread ... with misses and wrong attributions way off ... making cantabbulation a non-exact art - if artform it is - it's certainly not science!

The Cantabbulator has nothing to say on why authority is assumed over others on this board -no self 'who or why' definition regarding postings.

Here's a summary of the Cantabbulators contribution to this thread :

With more of the same, you -- a loyal, dedicated defender of rshow55 -- keep proving MY point: Comments to rshow55 elicit (not surprisingly) a typical knee-jerk response from you. I stopped looking for coherence in your telegraphic faux-Zen long time ago: you don’t disappoint me.

I agree “ultimately TRUTH outs : TRUTH has to be morally forcing : build on TRUTH it's a strong foundation.” EXCEPT, what you call ‘truth’ seems uniquely yours -- so different what it is in fact.

The ghost of Thomas Gradgrind lives on through the Cantabbulator

It ain’t gonna solve rshow55’s problems though.

The link between The Emperor's New Clothes and Star Wars is the commission …………Finally, the Emperor received the announcement that the two tailors had come to take all the measurements needed to sew his new suit. "Come in," the Emperor ordered. Even as they bowed, the two scoundrels pretended to be holding large roll of fabric……………..

Re your emperor’s clothes: “ultimately TRUTH outs : TRUTH has to be morally forcing : build on TRUTH it's a strong foundation.”

Showalter made the point that at the then CIA chief - Bill Casey - had put him the position of on the one hand working for a unique solution (Maths Problem) and on the other trying to keep together a business with regular investors (when Casey withdrew funding).

Working long hours, sleep deprivation, ... all for the cause of the Government --- shows bad faith and bad managerial skills on the part of then CIA chief who had the hand that helped run the country.

In current circumstance the employing had has a duty to be aware of the health/safety/welfare of a person in position of an employee ... or woebetide!

As usual, you seem to have bought into many many things -- without evidence. Others are NOT that naďve.
