    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Read Debates, a new Web-only feature culled from Readers' Opinions, published every Thursday.

To work together, especially in a joint intellectual effort....

We STILL don't know what's rshow55 working on. He himself doesn't know. How can any 2 people work on any "joint" effort (eg: paving the road etc)-- let alone anything "intellectual."

Since you too are 'working together', why don't you tell us [since he can NOT] what is the "joint inteelectual effort" YOU are engaged in ? World peace ? Meaning of life ? Or ?

Jorian .... I'm busy designing an new device, it's called THE CANTABBULATOR

Input - concepts Process - press the 'WHIZ' button Output - beggars belief

It's a cute item for the executive who has everything range.

Can it also get people to focus ? IF not, what good is yet another gadget ?

WRC sent a subliminal message to take Cantabb off Ignore ... the Cantabbulator picked up on this ...

Well, there are a LOT of such sdubliminal messages floating around.

See WRC reverse himself as he seems to have done in the past: the on-again-off-again "ignore" !

All I hope for is: He does NOT invite me for a face-to-face !

Maybe this thread is just a prototype - with (very good) stand-ins -but judging from the degree attack when I've asked who gisterme is - and the significant efforts of jorian319........

May be it's just an analyst's couch for you !

Now if people with managerial responsibilities could learn a few things . . . who knows what might happen?

The only person desperately in need of some basic learning is, am afraid, you, and you alone (with lchich).

Can we do a better job of finding truth? YES. Click "rshow55" for some things Lchic and I have done and worked for on this thread.

From early March 2001 for a long time - I saw my role largely as facilitating conversation between gisterme and almarst - - and there was a lot of conversation.

And all along - I've intended to set out clarifications - "search keys" if you will - for organizing things.

We've done some, too.

"Statements on frequently important subjects are interesting." -rshow55

We STILL don't know what's rshow55 working on. He himself doesn't know.

Yeah, but he's sure he's making progress on whateveritis.

The only person desperately in need of some basic learning is, am afraid, you

I may not be in desperate need, but I'll take all the basic learning I can bumble upon, and thank you very much.

TRUTH outs in the end : TRUTH has to be morally forcing : build on TRUTH it's a strong foundation

I was given a superb education

Showalter can the input cost of the superb education be calculated?

If an expense is incurred - to which taxpayers contribute - then this they do via government because the 'value' of the outcomes contribute to 'the common good'.

So what 'price'. to date, can be put on the

    SHOWALTERLATOR
inputs -- 'unsolved problems' ...
the process -- pressing of the auto-cognitive whiz button ...
    output ... ?
Does 'DeBriefing' fit here?
