    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Read Debates, a new Web-only feature culled from Readers' Opinions, published every Thursday.

Paranoia unplugged !

Some "complicated" things involve simple lessons. For instance - some people learn mixing theory - which has some important lessons for dealing with Cantabb - and other microscale, noisy events. Grouped now with “other microscale, noisy events” ? Oil check – long overdue !

Must be all that “chopping” carrots. With the ‘stick’ ?

Dealing with cantabb - though there's a lot of fine scale stuff - the large scale issues are especially interesting. One is that he's really working at it - there's a lot more since http://www.mrshowalter.net/Cantabb_Srch_to10_4.htm - and if, as one would expect, cantabb is a person with status and respected skills at the NYT - the effort has to be expensive - in wage time - and perhaps in status terms, as well. Perhaps cantabb is "just following orders" - and not to be blamed for the spectacle - but the more innocent he is - the more wasteful somebody(s) above him look.

Forum readers: Seeing my name here more often that you’d want to ? May not be my posts as much as numerous references to me and “Collected Works of Cantabb” [CWC], thanks to rshow55 and his loyal ‘united front’.

Btw, watch for CWC ‘’written on the subway walls’ near your neighborhood !

You think IF I were associated with NYT, you’d have survived a day on its Forums ?

I wouldn’t think of shirking my ‘duty’ or disappointing ‘my employers’, and most certainly won’t waste time, mine or theirs ! [I thought you had revised my affliation and job].

So, you think every poster who challenges you and your ‘united front’ is employed by some one/organization, determined to prevent you from doing your “duty” as “assigned” by Ike-Casey-CIA –X ? And, you, a self-described expert on conflict-resolution determined to achieve peace all over and save the humanity and the world --- out of the goodness of your heart and heightened sense of “duty” for a noble cause [i.e., no vested interested], ‘assigned’ to THIS (and no other science] Forum to do the ‘God’s work’, something you WILL do once the “noise” and “distractions” are out, so that you can find out the specific thing you’re supposed to work on. Must sound wonderful to the loyal united front overseas. Which's why pointing to lchic's 'emperor's' missing clothes brings out wrath ?

Sounds familiar ? Just another re-run of "Poster Identity" [for kids under 13] – same novel, same scenario, just the name/s have been changed in this “Loop Test,” which must go on ....

Cantabb's basic plan is to mix up and poison any coherent logical structure at all - with microscale attacks. I haven't put him on "ignore" - he's too much fun to read - but I mostly appreciate how his efforts - taken in the large - reinforce the notion that some of the "powers that be" on this thread are in a conflicted situation - with limited capacities and options - and showing that in public.

Whoa ! Hold it there 'Lone Ranger'!!

My “basic plan” ? To “mix up and poison any coherent logical structure” ? What “coherent logical structure” ? The 3-words NEVER found in my “microscale” review of your comments on your “work” !

Hopping from one off-topic to another, coherence ? Jumping from one half-baked thing to another, one self-created demon to another, logical ? The Slop (with capital 'S'] with references to all sorts of unrelated things, structure ?

May be to the ‘loyal united front’. Just wait till schoolyard fredmoore from somewhere downunder {South Africa?} finds out where exactly is the Brooklyn Bridge located ? Don’t put it on eBay yet !

I misspoke. I'm not at all sure that NYT "powers that

I misspoke. I'm not at all sure that NYT "powers that be" are posting on this thread. But it is fun to think about it - and a human being - reading this thread - and looking at scales and durations - is likely to think about it.

Aww. Is that your first ?

Any problem with your “checking” ? Your “loop test” seems working fine (actually working harder than you do).
