Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a
nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a
"Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed
considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense
initiatives more successful? Can such an application of
science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable,
necessary or impossible?

Unless they launch a missile attack on us, eh, loonie?
Otherwise, cool! More upside potential!

Jorian - so far - nothing by you on missile defense
- not even a whiff in the first 45 I've read - but some
interesting stuff, all the same.
I liked a lot about them from the first posts

"IMO it is equally regrettable that those who denounce our
attack on Iraq are called traitors or "pro-Saddam", and that
those who condone it are called "pro-war". I am sure that the
vast majority of Americans who are opposed to our attack on
Iraq are not traitorous in any sense, and I am absolutely
certain that almost nobody supporting the attack is "pro-war".
"These rhetorical devices cause people who could benefit
from unity, to talk past each other and turn differences in
persective into false ethical gulfs.
" How many Frenchmen does it take to
defend Paris? Nobody knows - it hasn't been tried."

The quote from Tufte just after may entertain
journalists, too.
Jorian319 , I can see I haven't made my case about
the usefulness of loop tests - and the importance of
looking carefully at frequently occuring things that
are screwing up from your point of view - - but
looking at your posts - I can see your a person worth trying
to convince.

I notice R M showalter is not posting @ this time, is he
taking a day off from the heat? Or has he been momentarily
institutionalized?

I agree with Cantabb and Bluestar....a more-or-less
official anti-Showalter Front must form to stop his spamming.

How dare rshow55 make such a statement? What a disgusting
liar and Hypocrite.
