    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Read Debates, a new Web-only feature culled from Readers' Opinions, published every Thursday.

One point is simplex

Multi-points are complex

So you're sticking with the '1' point?

Will you win with the '1' point?

Which race do you think you're in?

Which race are you actually in?

Is anyone else in the 'same race'?

Is it a 'Win Win' or 'Win Lose' or 'Lose Lose' race?

Don't know what this cryptogram is supposed to mean.

But at least one way, it does make my point.

May be there is a "point" here, but .....

Made September 17. Clarified in subsequent exchanges with other "regulars."

Can't help if people have been 'out to lunch' ....

And your point ...... ?

The gap between rich and poor more than doubled from 1979 to 2000, an analysis of government data shows.

The gulf is such that the richest 1 percent of Americans in 2000 had more money to spend after taxes than the bottom 40 percent.

SOME PEOPLE ARE OPTIMISTIC. AND SOME EVEN MADE A PROGRESS... THE WAY TO GO ACCORDING TO THE "BEACON OF CIVILIZATION". DON'T BELIEVE? JUST ASK MR. T.FRIEDMAN OF NYT.

Don't even bother with looneytoons Ichic....she and fellow Freakazoid Showalter are "Working" here...they were "asked" to, by the CIA, to open discussions with Gisterme, who is of course President Bush....get your Meds., Showalter...seek Profesionnal help from a Mental Health Provider now....

Actually, Bush's MD decisions don't look too bad, given the ongoing North Korea danger....the Indians and others want in, and this technology will spread worldwide without the US doing anything.
