    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Read Debates, a new Web-only feature culled from Readers' Opinions, published every Thursday.

The family of a Spanish television cameraman killed when a US tank opened fire on the Palestine Hotel in Baghdad during the Iraq war has asked a Madrid court to extradite and bring war crimes charges against three American soldiers. http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/dailybriefing/story/0,12965,966005,00.html

A documentary film in Yemen showed that the 'person in the street' is 'for the terrorism' that the advanced_world is trying to supress ... let's have a rundown on the global economics of terrorism :

Share prices in travel and accommodation - DOWN

Services that promote human potential - DOWN .. spending to 'security'

Time taken to go from 'A to B' - UP decreasing efficiency

The gap between the Advanced and Retarded worlds - WIDENED

Intra-Cultural

  • empathy - DOWN
  • fear and suspiscion - UP
On a global basis the Jerk(s) back to the Eight Century have done nothing to move the world forward.

Raises the question

Why is the anti-advancement perspective so joyfully embraced by the person in the street in Yemen?

Saddam - everyone will agree - was a tyrant and needed taking down.

The Westphalia stance is outdated.

International law has to be revised so that people within countries (that are rotten to the core) can appeal to an International Standard.

A question to ask is

Why is it so important for muslim clerics to have 'complete' power over the people ....
  • does their religion FALL OVER if people are allowed the free will to THINK
Why can't it function in under a secular society -- what's wrong with the muslim religion?
