Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a
nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a
"Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed
considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense
initiatives more successful? Can such an application of
science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable,
necessary or impossible?

ENERGY
played a big part in the Industrial Revolution .. the move
from wood to coal and later steam power ... enabled technology
to be introduced and developed.
ENERGY
is still a number one requirement for industry.
ENERGY
Yet, energy consumption figures show that most of it is
consumed in adanced economies --- rather than start-ups.
Why so?

If knowledge of invention, innovation, and process are
readily available ... then ... the question has to be asked
"Why don't underdeveloped nations cease it and run with it"
?
They don't!

A coalition of over 150 peace groups and global
non-governmental organisations (NGOs) is lashing out at the
U.N. Security Council for adopting a resolution that virtually
legitimises the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq and endorses the
foreign occupation of a U.N. member state. - http://ipsnews.net/interna.asp?idnews=18355

Thick black smoke can often be seen rising into the sky
above Basra, as scavengers burn off the rubber casing from the
stolen cable. The metal is sold to traders in the city who
collect it and transport it in bulk out of Iraq.
British military police on patrol in Basra say there is
often little they can do.

The Iraqi allegedly attacked by Col Collins was also
subjected to a mock execution, it was reported today.
Ayoub Yousif Naser, a member of Saddam Hussein's Ba'athist
party, told the Times that after he was hit by the colonel he
and his son were lined up facing a wall. He heard the officer
give the order to fire before he saw other troops approach
with bandages to treat their wounds.

CIA official James Critchfield had owned up to two of his
decisions that were so momentous that they still influence the
course of international events. One opened the CIA's doors
to ex-Nazis. The other cleared the way for Saddam Hussein's
rise to power in Iraq.

'150 peace groups and global non-governmental
organisations'
Comprised of individuals all dependent upon their 'home'
economies, all of which will trade with the USA, providing for
them.

Empire vs. Republic - http://www.consortiumnews.com/2003/042103a.html
U.S. news media that shed any pretense of “objectivity” as
it flooded the nation with heroic images of American soldiers
and heart-warming scenes of grateful Iraqis, while downplaying
civilian dead and growing signs that many Iraqis resent the
U.S. occupation.
