    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Read Debates, a new Web-only feature culled from Readers' Opinions, published every Thursday.

Dawn ...

In #11430 I said "there are certain types of films and music which can bridge the gap between civilians and the military"

Looks like Lionel is stealing my lines.

That's it .... concert's off!

Seriously though .. I hope he can make things right!

Cheers

"Quae cum ita sunt" Caesar's Gallic Commentaries

A representative from the History Channel was on FOX and Friends this A.M. He was announcing a special series to be telecast shortly. The series is about despots, dictators and villans and stars Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, and all the usual criminals. I know lchic, Robert and the 3 Alarm chili will be disappointed but there is no mention of President Bush!

I suppose, as always, our crew of malcontents will boycott the truth!

"Quae cum ita sunt" Caesar's Gallic Commentaries

Has rhyme and reason returned to the NY Times forums? Where are the 10 off topic posts in a row by the usual suspects? Has all discourse been stifled by the actions of this dyspeptic trio?

What good is blocking their posts in my preferences if they're not going to live up/(down) to their reputations?

Oh happy day. Maybe intelligent focused fair and balanced discourse on the subject at hand will occur!!

Hey Lou ....

I think the Pointer Sisters have your new theme song:

And if you move real slow .... I let it go

I'm so excited, I just can't hide it

I'm about to lose control and I think I like it

I'm so excited and I just can't hide it

I know I know I know I know I know .....

AND Here's one for Almarst:

SPLISH SPLASH

Splish Splash, I was taken by a Baath Long about a saturday night A rub-a-dub, just terrified in the tub Thinking everything was NOT alright

Well, I stepped out the tub, put my feet on the floor, I wrapped the towel around me And I opened the door, and then Splish, Splash! I jumped back in the Baath Well how was I to know there was a war a going on

There was lollipop with-a Peggy Sue Good Golly, Miss Molly was-a even there, too! A-well-a, Splish Splash, I forgot about the Baath I went and put my dancing shoes on, yay...

I was a rolling and a strolling, reeling with the feeling, Moving and a groovin', splishing and a splashing, yeah!
