Science
Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a
nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a
"Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed
considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense
initiatives more successful? Can such an application of
science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable,
necessary or impossible?

Can we do a better job of finding truth? YES. Click
"rshow55" for some things Lchic and I have done and worked for
on this thread.

made a very important post responding to my (# 11043
- "If you support the idea that Saddam is a
"hero" - or have much respect for people who do"
Almarst says: " I don't think I ever gave a
reason for such claim."
I looked back at what was said, and Almarst is
right.
Almarst makes a connection between Bush and Hitler where
there are aspects of the analogy that fit - others that
don't .
I've made similar analogies (and pointed out differences,
too) in the past.
I do try to work hard, and in the interest of the
United States - but can't always work fast.
Sorry for my delay, Almarst . I'll be back with
more.
I think that, in Iraq now - the Hussien regime
should surrender. In Iraq, right now, at the
level of military interchanges going on right now, I
think the Bush administration should be victorious. And
deserves to be. I think that victory for the Americans is
deeply in the interest of the people of Iraq - and in the
interest of people of good will all over the Islamic world.
And the Bush administration needs to be watched -
even forced - to keep its promises.
In some other areas, it seems to me that the Bush
adminstration should be defeated - should stop lying -
should clean up some of its messes. Others should, too. There
are plenty of messes in Iraq, and in the Arab world.
That's possible, if some leaders of nation states have
some courage.
Back with more later.

Do you have to put out a quota of postings
before the dollars comes through ...

Yep, it looks like you'd be the expert, especially if you
get extra points for consecutive unaswered posts.
So, can you answer the "mirror" question?

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Dozens of Iraqis, including civilians
and soldiers, were killed in the village of Furat near Baghdad
airport on Thursday evening in what witnesses said was a U.S.
rocket strike, a Reuters reporter said. He said more than 120
people were wounded in the attack on the village, which lies
between the airport and the Iraqi capital. Iraqi officials put
the total death toll at 83, but it could not be independently
confirmed.
"We saw a pile of dead bodies at one of the four hospitals
where the victims were taken. Most of them appeared to be
military," Reuters correspondent Nadim Ladki said.
U.S. forces advancing on the Iraqi capital launched an
assault on Baghdad's main airport on Thursday evening,
military sources said.
