    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Read Debates, a new Web-only feature culled from Readers' Opinions, published every Thursday.

MD is MinD

So how works the Pan Arabic Mind ... when will they work out that death and dead real estate have little to contribute.

Why 'fight' a war over 'nothing' much?

A million trillion dollars couldn't 'build' one human .... nature is smarter than the lab.

So war's not worth having.

One life lost is $$$$immeasurable in value!

So why don't the Iraqi's admit their culture has deficiencies .... like chopping hands off --- not popular world wide

and look to modernity

for improved systems

the great news for them is that they don't have to carry out the discovery of a new system

the new systems are born -- others laboured!

Iraq should be out shoppping for a 'new Spring Systems Dress' ... try a few on for fit ... and get on with living in the real world --- climb out of the 9th Century!

If the Arab zone wants to impress -- then be leaders in things that matter

This ancient devil-satan rhetoric is somewhat quaint ... even to the ears of a conservative Iraqi!

Mind Blowing ...

It's said that people under 'stress'

are so mind-full of it

that they forget how to carry out

the simple daily tasks

The Emerging Mind

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/reith2003/

The Emerging Mind lectures will be broadcast on Wednesdays and Saturdays in April.

This will be a recurring theme in this series of lectures, the notion that studying neurological oddities can help unravel the mysteries of consciousness and human nature.

You will be able to hear the lectures again, or download a full transcript, after the broadcast.
