    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Can we do a better job of finding truth? YES. Click "rshow55" for some things Lchic and I have done and worked for on this thread.

Almarst posting: 9746 http://forums.nytimes.com/webin/WebX?8@28.8Ywtab9A5Cn.1324929@.f28e622/11288

<a href="/webin/WebX?14@28.8Ywtab9A5Cn.1324929@.f28e622/11288">almarst2003 3/10/03 11:16am</a> is worth repeating:

The issue of Serbia, and what went wrong there, is an enormous issue for Almarst . And for many Russians and others with close slavic links.

The case most commonly accepted in the West is set out here http://www.mrshowalter.net/a_md01000s/md1845.htm

In the Kosovo case - Russia was disregarded, in a "humanitarian" cause - where issues of proportion, means, and law were significant - and where there were significant disagreements.

As discussions of international law - which now barely exists when it matters most - are discussed - the Kosovo case is a vital one - and I feel one where the frequency of mention, and intensity of feelings from Almarst are worth a look.
