    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Read Debates, a new Web-only feature culled from Readers' Opinions, published every Thursday.

You mean YOUR FORUM, BOSS?

bbbuck - 11:43pm Mar 23, 2003 EST (# 10392 of 10412)

Our forum brother. Our forum.

I think K is the boss.

Uhhhhh, does my moniker say "K". Don't think so.

If we share an old gene, which we likely do, it must have being severely mutated.

This little exchange reminds me of the 'stimulated emission' of the Vietnam War ..... 'Paint it Black' by the Rolling Stones.

bbbuck - 12:04am Mar 24, 2003 EST (# 10395 of 10412)

I see a fred-doore and I want it painted black...lalala...

When did alarmist2002 mutate? I just noticed the mutation. Apparently he had a brother alarmist-2001.

Yes fredless jump in with your best stuff. We're waiting.

He seems to be fixated on this 'stimulated emission' stuff. Which is kind of a puzzle to me. But I'm sure he explained it somewhere.

Wup it on us, partner, I mean brother.

Those big smiling pictures of Saddam ... you guessed it ... 'stimulated emission' for a whole population of Iraqis.

We have Lionel Ritchie .... a tad more sophisticated and far more meaningful.

Bring out the sound trucks!

"say you ... say me

say it forever ...

that's the way it should be .."

Cheers

28. Why did the FBI use violent harassment and how far up the chain of command was it authorized?
  • * The FBI harassed the Davidians by blaring loud music and negotiation tapes and by shining bright lights all night long. Much of the harassment was quite violent. Loudspeakers blaring sounds of screeching rabbits being slaughtered, dentist drills, airplanes taking off. (This is reminiscent of Richard Rogers' Hostage Rescue Team broadcasting to the Weavers, after Vicki Weaver's death, "Good morning, Mrs. Weaver. We had pancakes for breakfast. What did you have?")
  • Blaring loud music at criminals is standard 'FBI' procedure.

    Everyone knows that.

Don't they risk to damage their own hearing in process?:)

Davidians... Whell, at least not Goliathians:)

Back to Iraq. Did it come to some Iraqi people may not like Saddam but hate Americans and British even more? Could it be they still remember British Colonial puppet rullers they managed to throw away some 60 years ago? I would.

    I don't know ...

    You buy them the books

    Send them to school

    And what do they do?

    They EAT all the pages!

Have a listen to the 'Dancing on the Ceiling" CD!

    Especially 'Se La'.
