    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Read Debates, a new Web-only feature culled from Readers' Opinions, published every Thursday.

Can we do a better job of finding truth? YES. Click "rshow55" for some things Lchic and I have done and worked for on this thread.

It doesn't pay to be too trusting. Or too cynical either. Here are some other references to C.P. Snow's work:

"if the US did what it looks like it may have in the report"

Compare to the death of thousends, that's a pretty minor thing to worry.

WARPLANES ATTACK - http://www.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30000-1084275,00.html

He said the atmopshere was "very tense" and locals had taken refuge in bomb shelters.

The Iraqi capital - home to up to 6 million people - had been turned into a "ghost town", he said.

"It's a time of fear," he added.

For the first time American actions named as they are: EXTREME TERRORISM - http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2003/03/19/MN26098.DTL

President Bush would be responsible for "an act of terror" by launching a massive bombing campaign to oust Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein.

"I think unleashing 3,000 smart bombs against the city of Baghdad in the first several days of the war . . . to me, if those were unleashed against the San Francisco Bay Area, I would call that an act of extreme terrorism," said Stark, a Democrat from Fremont.

Q: Will the War Begin With a Big Lie? - http://www.fair.org/press-releases/ultimatum.html

A: It will Begin, Continue and End with as Big as Texas Lie!

almarst2003 - 06:48pm Mar 19, 2003 EST (# 10225 of 10227)

As Iraqis brace themselves for the most awesome bombing campaign of modern times, their families and friends across the border in Jordan are mired in doubt and fear.

However, according to a Guardian straw poll, a majority is opposed to war, giving the lie to those who claim that the imminent attack by US and British forces has the overwhelming backing of the Iraqi people. http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/Story/0,2763,917571,00.html

The Greatest Pyramid of Lies is under construction before anyones eyes!
