    Missile Defense

Russian military leaders have expressed concern about US plans for a national missile defense system. Will defense technology be limited by possibilities for a strategic imbalance? Is this just SDI all over again?

Still working on gisterme's excellent and mind-wrenching question of yesterday.

Wish I knew as much as Margaret Thatcher, Rupert Murdoch, or the Harvard or Stanford B-school deans, working on the issues involved -- but I'm doing my best.

Short on logic: MidMoo

".....narrow minded idelogy ,one just taking care of the Germans"

It took care of the greedy & powerful, the regular folk were enslaved with no free will.
"....Contrary to your argument, the US can not be a Natzi state. As I already have said,it's too open and too democratic and too diverse to be Natzi. ..."
The NAZIs came over to the USA at the end of the war infiltrating the USA - especially the C..IA, and the NAZI methods were put in place. Do a search on the word .. Casey .. and check through the web pages re NAZI doctrine -- in the USA. Also do a search on the word NAZI on this thread.

A nice thing about this thread is that, though it is public in some ways -- it is so cumbersome and buried -- and of such low status -- that it is "semi-private" too. So far as I know, not a single news article, anywhere, has so much as mentioned it.

That's good. People need right answers. But a part of right answers that work, for real situations - is that, within frameworks of acceptable justice -- people have to be able to save face, too.

While deals are getting crafted -- they need to worry about that. Some of the costs of action -- for real people -- happen when the actor has to ask, in the ways that apply .... "what would the neighbors think."

Politicians, and people in organizations, especially.

Back to gisterme's tough question.

Seems to me that a lot of good things can happen, and that, with peoples' heads up, the chances of the world being destroyed are getting less.

Still terribly worrisome, but less.
