Missile Defense

Russian military leaders have expressed concern about US plans for a national missile defense system. Will defense technology be limited by possibilities for a strategic imbalance? Is this just SDI all over again?

WRT the B1-B cutback it looks like the numbers I mentioned earler (from CNN) weren't right (CNN seems to get a lot of stuff wrong). The ratio of 1 in 3 ratio was. CNN said 93 of 300 aircraft would be cut rather than 30 of 93.

I'm glad to see the proposals.

I'm trying to think through, in ways that are both true and decently tactful,

how I think almarst is muddled in spots;

trying to do the same about gisterme ; and

trying to do the same about myself.

Trying ain't succeeding -- but I'm working on it.

I'm pretty sure of this. On the most basic desires, for peace and continuation of the world -- we're agreed -- however much we may disagree about a lot of significant things involved.

Pretty sure of something else. Everybody's angry in some appropriate spots, for some appropriate reasons -- but not all the spots and not all the reasons, make perfect sense.

I'm gonna try to cycle through these questions a while -- mostly, I guess, so I can get more focus (maybe focus on a wrong answer, but a focus) on my own muddle. And so I can ask some questions.
