    Missile Defense

Russian military leaders have expressed concern about US plans for a national missile defense system. Will defense technology be limited by possibilities for a strategic imbalance? Is this just SDI all over again?

That strategy can't be morally justified by any sort of peace-time standards. I believe the US really did want to see a democracy established in South Viet Nam and sincerely expected to win militarily at the beginning. I think a result something like South Korea was expected. In almost every one of those cases listed in the earlier post the economic purpose is only one of two or more birds intended to be hit by a single stone.

You didn't draw an analogy between nazi and US policy, Robert. You said the whole world thinks all Americans behave like Maj. Strasser when they're abroad.

Don't confuse "drawing analogies" with "characterizaion of peoples by stereotype". Such characterization really is nazi-like behavior. I'm sure that not many Jews would disagree.

Why draw analogies about policies when you could really compare policies? If you want to prove something, why not do that?

Sorry if I sort of glossed over what I meant by "tactical defeat". We finally got it out didn't we?

Poor applez...;)

gisterme, I am sorry, but your response does not stand up even to the "works" of Mr.Friedman of the NYT.

You either pretend to or even worst, live in the fantasy. Almost nothing of what you stated makes any sense to me. The logic you presented in this post does not hold any water. I suggest you read it yourself again, compare to my questions and count the contradictions you have stated.

Was you too much in a hurry? Take your time... I am still planing to be here for a while;)

Sorry.

No problem Gisterme, I'm kind of entertained seeing my virtual ego take a life of its own! :)

Now, let me go back and see what's been said.

America is for the 'concept' of free trade, yet practices a degree of protectionism especially with regards to Agriculture.
