    Missile Defense

Russian military leaders have expressed concern about US plans for a national missile defense system. Will defense technology be limited by possibilities for a strategic imbalance? Is this just SDI all over again?

I am not Russian, nor Serbian.

I am sure all nations have some dark pages of their history.

But never before in my life was I more disgussed and ashamed to live in a country which is capable of such a behavier. My English is just too poor to express my feelings. Its like a big brutal bully hits the small child. And, after a bruised child submits, the bully triumfantly stands before the public proud for not receiving even a one punch back.

To this picture I would add the fact that the bully is a son of a pilot saved some 50 years ago by the father of a child he just punished.

As a matter of fact, the Yugoslavia was the only country openly and consistently fighting the Nazis (by the way, Milosoviz's parents where partisans), paying enormous price and putting their lives on line while saving the US and British pilots. The only occupied country staying against prosecution af the Jews. It was also the only Eastern European country which remained independent from USSR and even ready to fight Warsaw armies. They where THE country which gave refuge to thousends of Chechs who flee in 1968. They always looked to the West as an example.

What a shame.

"Where other animals lose control and run -- humans lose control, and fight."

So, the NATO lost control (out of fear I should assume?) and then run and bomb the hundreds times weaker country for 78 days and nights?

Robert, Do you have children? And, if you do, can you imagine what it is like to hide your child for almost 3 month underground and teach him to run and hide at a noise of an airplane? To explain to him that he, his family, his friends, may become or already became a "colateral damage"? The "colateral damage" for showing of, the Belgrad TV was destroyed. TV station destroyed by the countries which stated their purpose to defend the democtacy and freedom (including the press) as mission.

That where I feel really terrible lacking the proper "printable" words to express my feelings.

In Yugoslavia the US may have won the fight but it lost the remainder of its soul, its purpose and its reason to exist.

The "new face" of America:

AN INCREASING number of American men, fearful of a wave of lay-offs, are trying to put their best chin forward at work by getting an implant. Doctors say that strong chins have become a status symbol on Wall Street and beyond. “Chinless wonders” are turning up at doctors’ offices to ask for implants that will give them confident, well-sculpted chins. - http://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/0,,2-201422,00.html

N.Korea Warns U.S. on Missile Plan - http://www.newsday.com/ap/text/international/ap195.htm

"North Korea also expressed anger at being called a rogue state.

''In fact, the most dangerous and biggest rogue state is the U.S. seeking to stifle legitimate, sovereign states by force,'' the said.

"Last week, Seoul officials thanked visiting U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage for explaining Washington's plans for the missile defense system. But they were careful not to take a stand on the issue."

Isn't it telling, the position of a South Korea which should be most fearful of the North's missiles?

Does it take a genius to figure this out?

Who says Bush is out of touch? What's all this missile defense about if not to head off any "bounty hunters" at the town limits.

Rumsfeld sits up late at night worrying that someday, some other nation might decide to act like the U.S.

I think it's far more telling that, of all the people who don't support a grand BMD but you think, would - are the jewish democrats, who have every incentive to want Israel effectively protected.

That's like offering water to a man who's been walking in the desert for 10 days. He must think it's poisoned or something, to refuse it.

NATO didn't lose control. They managed to destroy 14 tanks and when that didn't work, decided to kill 50-200 times as many civilians.

No wonder the U.S. is such a feared nation.
