Russian military leaders have expressed concern about US plans for a national missile defense system. Will defense technology be limited by possibilities for a strategic imbalance? Is this just SDI all over again?

The world environment is interconnected, says the 'Amnesty International' author. A First world person buy a product made by child slave labour - is directly connected to that disadvantaged child, and ought to have more awareness of this.

From awareness the world can be changed to a better place. (Perhaps someone has the citation to this NEW book and AUTHOR - thanks)

""After his stint as defense secretary, Richard Cheney personally became a very wealthy man for the first time as the CEO of Halliburton, doubling that company’s campaign contributions, lobbying expenditures and federal government contracts during his tenure there. Today, former secretary of state James Baker and former CIA director Frank Carlucci, among others, each have partnerships now reportedly worth at least $180 million in the Carlyle Group, an equity firm that also happens to be the 11th largest defense contractor. According to The New York Times, former president George Bush is currently an investor with Carlyle while his son initiates a new, multibillion-dollar defense buildup replete with lucrative new contracts. On the Democratic side, a number of former aides to former senator and vice president Al Gore, such as Peter Knight, Roy Neel, Greg Simon and others, all became wealthy lobbyists because of their perceived proximity to power. http://www.public-i.org/commentary_id_mmddyy.htm
