dirac, you stink.

Stunning in it's logic and reason. Absolutely your best analysis yet...

Analysis: Russia's Putin Hints at Missile Compromise

By Jon Boyle

MOSCOW (Reuters) - President Vladimir Putin has dropped new hints that Russia could consider changes to a landmark arms control accord to help bridge deep differences with Washington over its plans for a missile defense shield.

In a lengthy interview late Monday with U.S. journalists on his debut summit with President Bush, Putin said a new trust was emerging between Russia and the United States which made cooperation on key arms control issues possible...

You seem to keep forgettng that that was in the middle of a couple of wars. The "Kissingerian" whine sounds a lot like what the "losers" on the receiving end of the policy must have felt.

Robert, I can't agree with you about Friedman's opinon of Henry Kissinger:

The utterly ruthless brand of by-the-numbers, detatched warfighting by the US started with Johnson/MacNamara NOT Mr...

I don't always agree with dirac , and I don't here. Mirving the missiles you have is an entirely reasonable way to respond to the threats you're worrying about. You have to be prepared for that...

is everybody dreaming or what. it is just a promise, bush gave to the arms lobby in exchange for support on his presedential election!!

Nah, they have no real clout after the end of the Cold War...

Those points made by Putin are the most importand in my view.

You forget the one that says that NMD is impossible to make work:

He also insisted that Bush's proposed missile defense shield would never work.

Well, we haven't produced a Stalin, Hitler, Tojo, Mao. So Europe and Asia have little to talk about...
